Aaltje Roelofse is weduwe van Gerrit Jansen, karreman en landbouwer, gedoopt in 1791 te Velp en aldaar overleden op 13-05-1835, zoon van Jan Jansen,landbouwer en Hermina Labots, landbouwster. Zij waren op 08-02-1821 te Rheden getrouwd.

Bij de doopinschrijving van Aart Jansen wordt alleen zijn moeder vermeld.
Hij voldeed aan de Nationale Militie als Aart Kappes. Hij heeft waarschijnlijk meegevochten onder Willem II bij de slag bij Waterloo op 18 juni 1815.
Aart werd twee jaar voor het huwelijk van zijn moeder met Aart Kappes geboren en werd bij dit huwelijk niet geëcht. Hij liet zich pas bij zijn huwelijk in 1819 Aart Jansen noemen en wordt in de akte genoemd als onechte zoon van Dirkje Dirksen. Ook zijn moeder nam bij die gelegenheid de naam Jansen aan. Onderzoek in de rechterlijke archieven (Veluwe en Veluwe zoom) en zo ook bij de voogdij en boedelzaken in het Rijksarchief Gelderland hebben niets onregelmatigs aan het licht gebracht, waardoor voor twijfel over het vaderschap van Aart eigenlijk geen grond is. De reden voor het wijzigen van de naam Kappes in Jansen kan liggen in het feit dat Aart Kappes bij zijn huwelijk niet aanwezig was, na dit huwelijk niet meer terug te vinden was en mogelijk zijn gezin in de steek heeft gelaten.
Genealogisch zou je dit een ambtelijk kwartier verlies kunnen noemen.
