He homesteaded half of this land, 8o acres, & purchased the other half from the original homesteaders, another 80 acres from a Robert& Sarah Geery, at the same time in 1834 for $125. He sold this property, 160 acres, in 1861 to Samuel Hendricks for $960. The legal description of this property is Monroe County, Missouri, all of the Southwest Quarter of Section 9, township 55, North, Range 9 West.
