LifeSketch: Curtis Blakeley was a Judge in early Whitley County, KY. As recorded in the Whitley Co. records, located in the courthouse, he was appointed by unanimous decision to become a judge in 1821. There are many records located in the courthouse with his name. He left a will. He seems to have been a very good and uniquely intelligent man. There is a question however, regarding his last name, as DNA data compared with over 127 other Blakeley(various spellings) indicates his closest matches to be with Peden(various spellings) from Scotland. DNA data clearly indicates that Robert Blakley was NOT the natural father of Curtis, although records indicate that he may have served as Curtis's step-father.
