On October 28, 1779 she married to James (Trooper) Armstrong, a Revolutionary War patriot from Virginia. They were married at St. Thomas Church, Garrison Forest, Maryland. In 1804, James Armstrong was listed in the tax records for Knox County, Tennessee. After the death of her husband in 1813, Susannah continued to live in Knox County and was listed as a resident in the 1830 U.S. Census.uded his fourth year as the Mayor of Nashville. On her visit, she became ill and died on May 29th. Two days later her daughter-in-law’s father Josiah Nichol died. Both were struck down by the dreaded disease Cholera on its first visit to Nashville. Of 355 deaths during the Year 1833 in Nashville, 174 people died of Cholera. Mrs. Nichol’s obituary observed that that she “was in the enjoyment of her usual health on the evening before her death.”chol lot at City Cemetery.tory on June 12, 1847.
