    LifeSketch: When Alexander Reay was born on April 22, 1844, in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, his father, George, was 35 and his mother, Mary, was 35. Alexander was the eighth of nine children. His older siblings, Ann, George, William, Miles, John, and Mary, were 15, 14, 11, 9, 5, and 2 years old when he was born. He married Mary Catherine Bowles on June 8, 1882, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had nine children in 16 years. He died on October 25, 1928, in Pocatello, Idaho, at the age of 84, and was buried in Cache, Utah.
