In Knox Co. County Court Records 1894-1895, J. R. Davis vs William Barker et. al,
this son of Jon/Mary is "R.C. Coker". He is in federal census records in 1860 and 1870, with his parents, in Anderson County, then Knox County, TN.
There is SOME information that he married twice. First to Winnie Seavers 24 Mar 1884. Second to Gertrude Weaver Coker 27 Sep 1887. There are marriage records, but nothing confirms that the groom is this same Richard Cox Coker.
In the court case, his name is listed (as R.C.) among all the other SONS of Jon/Mary, but although most of those men were married at that time, none of the wives were mentioned. Then only cases where a spouse is named is in the case where the descendant is a daughter, and thus her HUSBAND is also named as plaintiff, deft., etc.
His sister, Caroline, b. 1857, married first Samuel Gray, b. 1854, in November, 1874. Their son, Robert E. Gray was born 1878 in Knox County. Apparently they had more children,
as follows: Laura, b. Jan. 1888, Cora, b. Dec. 1888, and Perry, b. 1892 or 1993. All this can be be analyzed from census forms up through 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930, following the family of John William Eubanks, Caroline's second husband (married 23 Mar 1884).
The court minutes indicate that at that time, Caroline was the wife of J. W. Eubanks
She apparently died (but no record found) AFTER the court case finished, ca. 1894, as John William Eubanks next married Gertrude WEAVER COKER (widow of R.C. Coker) in 1895.
