Death record could not be found at the BC Archives. It is therefore assumed that Absolom died outside of British Columbia. Elizabeth (born 1854)27), page 92Mary Ann Freeman. Educated at Public School, Champneys. Prosecuted fishing industry at home, Labrador and Grand Banks. Went to Vancouver, British Columbia, January, 1890. Followed coasting trade in freight and passenger steamer. Captain of Vancouver steamers since 1892. Prosecuted halibut fishery for several years and in 1906 organized Canadian Fishing Co., Vice-President of same. Sold in New England Fish Co., in 1909, retaining same interest, and was made director for several years. The company still operates in Vancouver, retaining the original name (The Canadian Fishing Co.). In 1924 engaged by world flyers (British) as pilot on steamship landing supplies and locating harbors for aeroplanes through Alaska, Kamchatka and Kurile Islands, off Japan. At present with Canadian Fishing Co., Vancouver. Married April 9th, 1894 to Miss Susan B. Brown. Children: Two sons. Religion: C. of E. Politics: Conservative. Residence: 1155 13th Avenue, West Vancouver, B.C."ish Columbia is named for him (see this link). This site mentions his birthplace as Trinity, NF.ooner New England.
