    Children of Richard and Elizabeth Ridgeway: The children of Richard Ridgeway by his first wife, Elizabeth Chamberlayne, were eight in number, two born in England, the others at Crewcorne as follows: Richard, Thomas, Richard II, Elizabeth, William, Sarah, Joshiah and Joseph.
    LifeSketch: Richard, founder of the American branch of the Ridgway family, was born about 1654. He was married to Elizabeth Chamberlyn. The Ridgway's were Quakers and most likely left England due to religious persecution. They came from Wallingford, Berks county, England, to America in 1679, on the "Jacob and Mary," to "The Falls," on the Delaware river, Bucks county, near Penn Manor, Pennsylvania.
