In order to settle the Buchanan feud, Alexander Colquhoun married the daughter of Sir George Buchanan of that Ilk, Helen Buchanan. That seems to have finally settled affairs betwixt the 2 clans. The marriage contract was signed on 25 Oct 1596.les first, then females):s brother, George, moved to Sweden and became cannon makers to King Adolphus Gustavus., 5th Lord Cathcart in 1626. She remarried upon his death to Sir Duncan Campbell, Baronet, of Auchinbrecht. Her 3rd husband was Sir William Hamilton, Knight, and 3rd son of James, Earl of Abercorn. Nancy, who married a McAuley and moved to Ireland.
