He loved the outdoors and until recent years, enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends. He worked hard all his life, and retired from Kennecott Copper, working as a mechanic in the truck shop in 1982. He had worked in mines at Park City and Bingham, UT, and Grass Valley, CA. of the stick.o; 15 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
