    LifeSketch: Life Sketch of Margaret Ann Adair. Margaret was born in 1836 to Sebrem Adair and Mary Reed Emerson both were from Laurens, South Carolina. Margaret was probably born in Henderson County, Tennessee. When she was about six years old her parents and family moved to Tishomingo, Mississippi. She married Samuel Anderson Puckett in 1857, four years before the American Civil War. They had one daughter before the war. Her husband was a private in the Confederate 32 Mississippi Infantry regiment. After the war Samuel farmed land in an area called Dry Run, Prentiss Mississippi. She had six children 4 of whom grew to adulthood. She was widowed at age 56. She moved to live with her son James Calvin and his wife Lenora, about 1899. She was confined to a wheelchair with rheumatism until her death. She was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1900 by Elder W.W. Allen in Alamo, Tennessee. She died in 1907 and is buried in Kelsey, Texas by her daughter-in-law and two granddaughters.
