LifeSketch: Richard Sergeaux was the son of Sir Richard Sergeaux and his second wife, Philippa FitzAlan de Arundel. He was underage at the death of his father in 1393, and was age 20 at his own death 23 June 1396. He was born about 1375. (See Inquisitions) He left no heirs, and was most likely unmarried. His sisters inherited after his death.Inquisition, found in Sources regarding properties at the death of Otes Bodrugan in 1389. After the death of Elizabeth Bodrugan's uncle, Otes Bodrugan's son Otes Bodrugan M8ZR-Q15, who died without male heirs in 1389, certain entailed manors went to her husband "Richard Sergeaux, knight, and John Shireston held the manors from 1 Sept. 1389 to 29 Sept. 1393." From that date, Richard Sergeaux, Jr. held them until his death in 1396. His mother Phillipa held them as dowager until her death in 1399, and then Richard, Jr.'s sisters became coheirs to the Bodrugan properties. His sister is named here: "Alice, countess of Oxford, John Shireston and Thomas Warner, knight, held until Michaelmas 1404." in 1396, and his sister Alice LY45-LKS was one who inherited the manors. (See Otes Bodrugan, Inquisition in Sources and Memories.) One of the 1400 Inquisitions specifically states in the last line: "Richard the son died on 24 June 1396; sisters and heirs as in last." An Inquisition about Sir Richard Sergeaux, Sr. who died in 1393 states, “A third part passed to Philippa his widow in dower, two parts to the younger Richard, who held by the same services as his father and died on 23 June 1396 in his 20th year.” (Philippa was the mother, and wife of Sir Richard Sergeaux, Sr.)
