County, Florida several years and lived in Plant City, Florida.rien Counties. place was on the Alapaha River in Berrien County (originally Lowndes). He was a member of the Empire Primitive Baptist Church.try Regiment of Volunteers, May 6, 1862. This was a Berrien County company commanded by Captain J.D. His grave is said to be marked in the Confederate cemetery there. The end of the war came soon after Reuben’s death, and left Harriet a widow with six little ones to look after and rear. How well she did it is seen in the four fine sons and two fine daughters who grew up and in turn reared fine families. It was a big job and a hard one but well done by Harriet. The family lived a while in the Mud Creek district of Clinch County along about 1870. When the children were grown all of them except one went to Hillsborough County, Florida and made their homes there. The one who remained here was the daughter Dory Ann. She and her husband acquired the home-place, and lived there until their deaths, and Harriet lived with them until she died on June 8, 1906, age 75 years, and was buried at nearby Empire Church.
