Notes about Agnes Drummond Campbell

Agnes Drummond was born circa 1531 at Innerpeffray, Perthshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of Sir John Drummond, 2nd of Innerpeffray and Margaret Stewart. She married, firstly, Sir Hugh Campbell of Loudoun before 1561. She married, secondly, Hugh Montgomerie, 3rd Earl of Eglinton, son of Hugh Montgomerie, 2nd Earl of Eglinton and Mariot Seton, before 10 August 1562. She married, thirdly, Patrick Drummond, 3rd Lord Drummond, son of David Drummond, 2nd Lord Drummond and Lilias Ruthven, in 1588. She died on 21 January 1589/90.

From before 1562, her married name became Campbell. From before 10 August 1562, her married name became Montgomerie. As a result of her marriage, Agnes Drummond was styled as Countess of Eglinton. From 1588, her married name became Drummond.
