The birth of Bartholomew Stovall is recorded four times in the Quaker records of Guildford, and can be found in the Library of the Religious Society of Friends, Friend's House, Euston Road, London, England, N.W.L. The manuscript is located in the Library under "Digests of Births for the Quarterly Meeting of Sussex and Surrey" and has the following entries:nd Jone, Allbery, 1665.6.24 GuildfordStowell Bartholomew, son of George and Joan, Allbury, 1664.6.24 Guildfordyear the Feast of Annunciation to the Virgin Mary of the coming Incarnation. Consequently, March was the first not the third month of the year, and the sixth month was August, not June. Thus, Bartholomew was born 24 August 1665..226, record the marriage of Bar. Stovall with Ann Burton, 8 August 1693. The old church was torn down about 1743, and a new St. John's Church was built at 24th and Broad Streets in Richmond, VA. The only trace left of the old St. John's Church is a plaque on a marker in a cornfield at Curle, VA about 5 miles from the present church.
