Walter J. Adams, Jr., age 88, of South Weymouth, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016, with his family by his side.

Walter grew up on Ellsworth St in Dorchester, studied aviation technology at Boston Trade School, and served as Seaman second class on board the USS Vogelgesang. He gained a degree in civil engineering from Lowell Tech, and worked for many years as the principal construction engineer for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission.

An avid fisherman, he loved spending time surf-casting off Cape Cod, striper fishing and lobstering with his brother, raking for quahogs in Eastham, or just watching fishing boats unloading their catch in the harbour.

He also loved bowling, greyhound racing, cribbage, his garden, his home, and his family. He was a loving husband for 56 years, and a devoted father of two children, a grandfather to three, and an uncle to ten nieces and a nephew.
