Bernard Cassells, of Cape May, passed away Tuesday in Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he had lived several years in Edgewater Park and was a resident of Cape May for 4 years.

He retired in 1975 from the US Air Force, where he served for 21 years. He later retired from the Division of Taxation for the State of New Jersey.

He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Cape May and was a member of the VFW Post 386, Cape May.

Mr Cassells is survived by: his wife of 42 years, Patricia M. (Lynn) Cassells, four sons, Christopher Cassells, of Moorestown, Michael Cassells, of Union, Peter Cassells, of Pemberton, Matthew Cassells, of Randolph, and one sister Catherine Krieder, of Dove Canyon, California. Two brothers, James Cassells, media, Pennsylvania, John Cassells, of Richmond, Virginia, and two grandchildren.
