{geni:about_me} =Thimo von Wettin=
aus Wikipedia, der freien Enzyklopädie
'''Thimo, Graf von Wettin''', (* vor 1034; † 1091 oder 1118) war der '''Sohn des Markgrafen Dietrich, und der Mathilde von Meißen''', Tochter des Markgrafen Ekkehard I. von Meißen und der Swanhild Billung von Sachsen, Tochter von Herzog Hermann Billung von Sachsen. Graf Thimo starb nach den Naumburger Annalen am 9. März 1091, nach anderen Quellen erst im Jahre 1118. Nach Pätzold, 1997 wird das Todesjahr mit nach ca. 1101 angegeben. Verheiratet war er mit '''Ida, der Tochter Ottos von Northeim''', zeitweise Herzog von Bayern. Er war der erste, der sich nach der Burg Wettin benannte.
==Leben==
==Nachkommen==
-1. '''Dedo IV'''., († 1124) Graf von Wettin und Stiftsvogt zu Naumburg
-2. '''Konrad der Große''', Markgraf von Meißen

Thimo (born c. 1010, died 9 March 1090/1091 or c. 1100), was count of Wettin and Brehna. He was the son of Dietrich II, Margrave of Lower Lusatia, and Mathilde, daughter of Eckard I, Margrave of Meissen, and married Ida, daughter of Otto of Northeim.[1][2] Thimo is buried at Niemegk Monastery, which he had founded.
The exact year of Thimo's death is unclear; since his son Conrad was born in approximately 1098, Thiemo cannot have died long before this year. Alternatively, some researchers assume that Thimo was in fact Conrad's grandfather, and that Conrad's father was an unknown son of Thimo's with the same name, making a death year of 1090/91 possible, as given in a chronicle. However, since Thimo II is not otherwise attested, this is considered unlikely.
