Notes about Andries Maas

De ringetjes die de zeelui of vissers droegen waren bedoeld als onderpand voor de begrafenis.
Als een visser verdronk en weer aanspoelde, was er geld voor de begrafenis. Deze traditie kwam voor bij de gehele Zeeuwse - Zuid en Noord-Hollandse vissers. Meest hadden de vissers een tatoeage op een arm met de naam er in geschreven, zo wist men wie de persoon was. En er was nog een kenmerk, alle vissers droegen donkere blauwe truien, maar elk dorp of stad had zijn eigen brei patroon. Hieraan kon men zien uit welk dorp of stad de visser afkomstig was.
