Notes about Decatur McDannell

Painted a substantial portion of the Gettysburg Cyclorama, often without being credited for his work and talents. He also wrote an 1868 book "The Practical Painter and Instructor. " He donated several of his works and paintings to friends and family, and many are scattered in museums across the USA. It is of note that he "left" his family to pursue his career at some point, although the exact time and conditions are mere family conjecture and old stories.
