De genealogie van het geslacht van der Wind is uitgezocht en gepu-bliceerd in het "Familieboek van der Wind" door Nico Plomp, Woerden 1973. «i»"De stamreeks zoals wij die uit de kerkregistrers kennen, gaat terug tot Simon van der Wind die omstreeks 1650 te Nieuwkoop leef-de. Een van zijn nazaten was Willem van der Wind. Hij werd op 17 Maart 1743 te Nieuwkoop gedoopt. Zijn ouders waren Hendrik Huygens van der Wind en Aaltje Willems Ouds-hoorn.
Hij huwde te Zegveld (ondertrouw Zegveld 19 Juni 1784) met Aaltje Zwanen-beek (gedoopt te Zegveld op 18 Juni 1741). Aaltje, die in October 1781 als weduwe met tien kinderen was achter-gebleven, her-trouwde kort na het overlijden van haar vader Reyer Ariensz Swanen-beek, met Willem van der Wind uit Nieuwkoop. Waar-schijnlijk was hij boerenknecht; in ieder geval was hij onbemiddeld. Uit dit huwelijk werd één kind geboren Gijsbert, gedoopt te Zegveld op 9 October 1785.
