Notes about Roelof van Mulligen

Roelof slaagt in april 1911 voor het eind-examen van "den 11den Provicialen Cursus in hoefbeslag" te 's Gravenhage en wordt zo gediplomeerd hoefsmid te Voorschoten. Kort daarna, in 1912, gaar Roelof via advertentes (o.a. in het Nieuwsblad van Friesland) op zoek naar een smidskencht.

Bij het tweede huwelijk van Roelof van Mulligen met Magdalena van Winkel brengt zij een kind (Bep) uit haar eerste huwelijk mee. In totaal is er dus sprake van 13 kinderen in het gezin. Roelof van Mulligen is van 12 kinderen de vader.


Roelof is lid van de vrije burgerwacht en schietvereneging 'Allemansgeest' te Voorschoten. Hij is een goede schutter blijkens het winnen van diverse prijzen (wedstrijden in o.a. Voorschoten, Hoek van Holland, Bodegraven en Leiden, o.a. 1926).
