    Op 5 april 1745 compareerde voor drossaard en schepenen van Geffen Elisabet Janse van Schaeijk weduwe van Jan Geerlings van der Velden inwoonster van Geffen. Zij verklaarde toestemming te geven voor het huwelijk dat haar zoon Hendrik Jan Geerlings van der Velden voornemens is te voltrekken te Gorcum met Henderina Tijssen. Verder verklaren drossaard en schepenen dat comparante en haar overleden man van goede naam en faam zijn en voor eerlijke luiden worden erkend en dat zij niet anders weten dan dat voornoemde Hendrick Jan Geerlings van der Velden zich altijd eerlijk en goed heeft gedragen. Volgen handtekeningen: Dit is + het merk van Elisabet weduwe van Jan Geerlings.
