    Amalrik V van Thouars (?, 1095 - Thouars, 1127) zou de zoon geweest van Godfried III van Thouars en van Amelina, maar later zou blijken dat hij meer waarschijnlijk een zoon was van Godfried, een broer van Amalrik IV. Amalrik V volgde in 1123 zijn overleden vader op als burggraaf van Thouars. Snel ontstaat een conflict over de opvolging met de latere Amalrik VI, die nog minderjarig is. In 1127 vermoordt de jonge Amalrik VI zijn rivaal Amalrik V.

    Amalrik was gehuwd met Agnes van Poitou (1110-1157), dochter van Willem IX van Aquitanië, en werd de vader van:
    - Willem
    - Godfried IV (1125-1173)
    - Gwijde, gehuwd met Johanna, dochter van Burchard van Beauffort,
    - Albert.
