Maria Joannis Paulusse is te Asten op 20-11-1770 overleden en daarna wordt de erfenis verdeeld en komt het huis in handen van haar schoonzoon Arnoldus Smits:

Anna Maria Smits weduwe van Jan Trouwen, Pieter Verberne, wonende te Eyndhoven, Jan Verberne, wonende te Liessel mede voor haar moeyte, Elisabet Smits, wonende te Antwerpen evenals Jan Tabee man van Catarina Verberne deze drie kinderen van Joost Verberne en Maria Smits dus allen met Arnoldus Smits gehuwd met Johanna Smits zijn erfgenamen van wijlen Maria Paulusse weduwe van Jan Peter Smits die aan de comparanten hebben nagelaten twee huizen en drie akkers doch dezelve daarvan, op 26-07-1769, verkocht een huis en een akkertje aan Francis van Hoek transport Asten. De koopgelden zijn door hen, met uitzondering van Arnoldus Smits, ontvangen en verdeeld. Met Arnoldus Smits is besproken dat het andere huis en hof in het Dorp ½ lopense, ene zijde en einde Francis van Hoek, andere zijde de straat, aan hem toegewezen zou worden. En de akker agter Antoni Liesen en de Mooleakker zullen nog blijven aan de andere comparanten. De goederen zijn belast met ƒ 0-10-0 per jaar in een meerdere rente van ƒ 1-10-0 per jaar aan den Armen van Asten. Francis van Hoek betaald de ƒ 1,-.
