In de doopklapper van het Westland in het R.A. te Den Haag staat vermeld een gezin "Claas Claaszn. van der Wel gehuwd met Maartje Jans de Bruyn met kinderen gedoopt zowel in Naaldwijk als in 's Gravenzande. Deze doopboeken vermelden echter geen moedersnaam.
In "Stamreeks van der Wel" (1990) staan een 5-tal conclusies waarom dit ene gezin gesplitst moet worden in een gezin Claas Claaszn met Stijntje Cornelis Dijkxhoorn met 6 kinderen gedoopt te Naaldwijk en een gezin Claas Claaszn met Maartje Jans de Bruyn met 2 kinderen gedoopt te 's Gravenzande.
