Marinus is volgens de bijgevoegde inschrijving in het juridischregister van april 1927 tot in augustus 1927 geplaatst
in de Rijkswerkinrichting in Veenhuizen. Als reden voor deze straf is 'passant' vermeld. Tegenwoordig is de juridische
betekenis van deze term, dat iemand na het uitzitten van zijn straf moet wachten op zijn tbs-opname. Dat was in 1927
nog zeker niet het geval. Mogelijk is hij in april 1927 opgepikt als een verdachte zwerver. In de inrichtingen in
Veenhuizen werden in die tijd kansarme mensen 'ter opvoeding en lering' opgenomen.
Het blijft een merkwaardige zaak, want Marinus had een echt beroep, adres en gezin in de periode 1924-1937 in Oss.
