Geboren in 1700 te Kruisland (West-Brabant).246 Gedoopt op 6 januari 1700 te Steenbergen (West-Brabant).246 Overleed op 31 juli 1743 te Kruisland (West-Brabant).246 Woonde te Oud-Gastel (West-Brabant) in 1743.246 Hij werd in 1743 vermeld in een schepenakte te Roosendaal. Bartel Philipse Claris en zijn echtgenote verklaren dan 400 gulden (en da’s een enorm bedrag in die tijd) schuldig te zijn aan de gereformeerde kerkmeester van Roosendaal Jan Carel Juta. Bartel brengt op als onderpand: “een perceel zaailand, groot 2 gemeten 72 roeden, gelegen aan het Ettingstraetje, een perceel zaailand, groot 1 gemet 273 roeden, gelegen aan het Peereboomstraetje met het bijbehorend Reepken, de helft van twee percelen land, deze helft is groot 1 gemet 10 roeden, gelegen achter het Gors aan de Ettinge, een perceel land, groot 238 roeden, gelegen aan het Peereboomstraetje, een huis en erf, gelegen over de Leege Brugge, een huis en erf, aldaar gelegen, een leeg erf, aldaar gelegen, een huis en erf met alle toebehoren, gelegen te Oud Gastel, de wagenmakerswinkel hierin gevestigd.” Op 22 mei 1744 verklaart de kerkmeester dat de schuld is voldaan.246 Ook bekend als/Schrijfwijze ook: Bartel Philipse – Claris.
