In 1898 is de naam van het bedrijf veranderd in RVS, dat staat voor Rotterdamse Verzekering Sociëteiten. Het assortiment was inmiddels uitgebreid met ziekenfondsen en levensverzekeringen.

      In de jaren zestig werd RVS opgenomen in de holding "de Amfas groep", die later is overgenomen door Nationale-Nederlanden. Het merk RVS is altijd behouden gebleven. In de jaren zeventig werden de financiële activiteiten uitgebreid met hypotheken en beleggen. RVS is in 1993 gefuseerd met een andere historische verzekeraar, Victoria Vesta, die in Ede gevestigd was. De verzekeringsactiviteiten werden voortgezet onder de naam RVS en het hoofdkantoor werd gevestigd aan de Loevestein in Ede.

      Begin jaren negentig richten Postbank/NMB en Nationale-Nederlanden samen de ING Groep op. RVS is onderdeel van het ING concern waartoe wereldwijd meer dan 61 bedrijven behoren. ING verzekert, bankiert en doet aan vermogensbeheer en behoort tot de top van financiële instellingen in de wereld.
