    1924-2021 Katharina went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Katharina was the beloved wife of Jan Koudys for 52 years until he passed away in 1999. Dear mother of John (deceased) and Yolanda Koudys, Ted and Kathy Koudys and Peter Koudys. Loving grandmother of: Jennifer and Jason McClure, Theo and Anne Koudys, Elizabeth and Brian Kikkert, Matthew Koudys and Lauren Koudys. Great grandmother, Oma to Erin, Sebastian and Kate McClure; Jacob and Mia Koudys; Kendra, Owen and Gavin Kikkert; Stephan Koudys. Katharina was predeceased by her sisters Magdalena, Dorothea and Renate. Katharina was born in Breslau, Germany. After the war she moved to Leiden, Holland where she married Jan and raised her family. In May 1957, she and Jan along with three young boys immigrated to Canada settling in Grimsby, Ontario. To help make ends meet she took on various jobs such as cleaning doctors office, cleaning Grimsby Baptist Church, fruit picking and greenhouse work. Her comfort was that in life and in death Jesus Christ is her faithful Saviour and her family is forever grateful for her Christian example. She loved to participate in music, playing of various instruments and singing in the choir. Katharina had a special connection with all animals and dogs especially brought her great joy. In retirement, she and Jan enjoyed annual vacations, going south in the winter and camping and fishing in the summer. After Jan's death Katharina found comfort in her Evergreen Terrace community and was very thankful for the loving care she experienced during her residence at Shalom Manor and Gardens.
