Meginhard IV van Hamaland was Graaf van Hamaland en Hertog van Friesland. Hij werd geboren voor 898 en overleed in het jaar 955, minstens 57 jaar oud.


Meginhard IV van Hamaland was als lid van de delegatie van Hendrik de Vogelaar bij diens ontmoeting met Karel de Eenvoudige in 921. In 939 nam hij als vazal van Hendrik I van Beieren deel aan de opstand van de hertogen Everhard III van Franken, Giselbert II van Maasgouw en Hendrik I van Beieren tegen Koning Otto I, de broer van Hendrik I van Beieren. Na de nederlaag van Hendrik werd Meginhard als leenheer genade betoond. Hij kreeg zijn bezittingen terug maar zijn grafelijke titel werd hem blijvend ontnomen. In de meeste historische stukken wordt hij slechts edelman en vazal genoemd en alleen in een bul van Paus Gregorius V komt hij als graaf voor (Bron: Wikipedia).
