Earconbert van Kent was koning van kent vanaf 640 tot aan zijn overlijden. Hij was de zoon en opvolger van Eadbald van Kent en diens vrouw Emma. Hij was getrouwd met Sexburga en werd opgevolgd door zijn zoon Egbert I van Kent. Hij was volgens Beda de eerste koning van Engeland die beelden van traditionele godsdiensten liet vernietigen en de vastentijd verplicht stelde. In 655 stelde hij Deusdedit als eerste Angelsaksische aartsbisschop van Cantebury aan (Bron: Wikipedia).


Earconbert trouwde rond 640, op hoogstens 22 jarige leeftijd met Sexburga ook genaamd Sexburga van Saxeburg en De Heilige Saxeburga , Angelsaksische Koningin en Abdis van Ely. Sexburga werd geboren rond 625, overleed in het jaar 699 en werd begraven te Ely (Cambridgeshire) (GB). Bij haar overlijden was zij ongeveer 74 jaar oud.
