    In 1584 vermeld als Heemraed en schout op Maasdam, welke functie (schout) hij blijkens zijn grafsteen in de N.H.-kerk van Maasdam ca. 31 jaar heeft vervuld.

    Doordat de rechterbenedenhoek van de grafsteen beschadigd is, onrbreken daarop thans het jaar van overlijden en een eventueel wapen.
    De zerk bevindt zich tegenwoordig in het Streekmuseum Hoeksewaard te Heinenoord. Het streekmuseum is het bezoeken meer dan waard. Ook voor kleinere kinderen is het geschikt en dan m.n. het bijgebouw, waar overigens ook de grafzerk te zien is. Als u alleen voor de zerk zou gaan, deze is niet goed te zien.
