Notes about Lijsbert (Lies) Bosgraaf

Op 6 juli 1889 gaat het gezin van Halbe Bosgraaf vanuit Roosendaal in Leeuwarden wonen (nieuwe Oosterstraat). Blijkbaar volgt Halbe Bosgraaf zelf wat later. Hij staat ingeschreven per 10 oktober van dat jaar, dan wonen ze in de Heerstraat. Lijsbert was in 1911 huishoudster in Leeuwarden en Sneek. Op 14 februari 1913 verhuist het gezin, met stiefvader Timmer naar Sneek. Ergens in dat jaar gaat ze als huishoudster werek in Garijp in het gezin van de weduwnaar Hylke Bergsma. Nadat ze is bevallen van haar eerste kind, Halbe, gaat zij op 24 april 1914 wonen in Lippenhuizen en op 29 mei weer naar Garijp, waar zij trouwt met pake Hylke die dan ook zijn zoontje Halbe erkent en echt.
Aanvankelijk is de spanning in het gezin Bergsma groot waar Lijsbert eerst huishoudster was en later vrouw en moeder werd. Met name Miene, de oudste dochter uit het eerste huwelijk, heeft grote moeite met de situatie en zorgt voor de nodige conflicten tussen Hylke en Lies. Halbe (pake) , de oudste zoon uit het tweede huwelijk, kon zich nog goed herinneren hoe de potten en de pannen door de kamer vlogen en de lytskes (de kleine kinderen uit het tweede huwelijk) zich verschuilden achter de rokken van hun mem. Later, toen Miene en ook Halbe al de deur uit waren ging het allemaal veel beter. 'Soms kropen ze elkaar aan alsof het tortelduifjes waren', aldus Halbe toen hij in 2000 in het MCL lag. Als aanvulling op het inkomen had Beppe Lies een klein winkeltje aan huis. "Onder de toonbank' verkocht ze daar ook Berenburg.
