Hij was ereheer van Paço de Abreu [Senhor Torre e honra de Abreu].
Hij was heer van belang en landgoed van Froiäao.

Op 18 juni 1357 werd hij benoemd tot burgemeester van Castro Laboreiro, Melgaço en Lapela.

Op 12 juni 1360 was hij er getuige van dat Dom Pedro I over diens huwelijk met Inês de Castro zwoer.

Vasco was "een zeer geëerde edelman in de tijd van koning Dom Fernando I" (1367 - 1383). Hij ontving van Dom Fernando I de boerderijen van Afurada, Lamoso, Sanguinhal, Gondomil en Paredes.

Op 16 februari 1383 werd hij heer van belang en landgoed van Valladares. Hij was heer van Couto Valadares via zijn grootmoeder 'Guiomar Lourenço de Valladares' en de kastelen van Lapela en Melgaço

In de strijd om de opvolging volgde hij de partij van Dona Beatriz. [Dona Brites van Portugal, de dochter van Dom Fernando I]. Na een successiestrijd moest zij al in 1385 de Portugese troon afstaan aan haar oom. In 1385 en 1386 nam Dom Joäao I alle bezittingen van Vasco in beslag, "por andar em Castela em desserviço do Reino de Portugal".
