Het echtpaar trouwt in op het oudershuis van Janna, het erve "Eikel" in de Look. Tussen 12-12-1756 en 07-07-1771 vestigen ze zich op boerderij "Hegeman" in Dijkerhoek. Mogelijk zijn ze ingetrokken bij hun dochter Dina. Op 01-01-1775 wordt Gerrit aldaar geregistreerd als lidmaat van de kerk als 'Gerrit Dirkze, de oude man'. Vanwege zijn wonen op boerderij "Hegeman" wordt Gerrit ook vermeld als Gerrit Hegeman.
