^ te Berkel. Had een schuilkerk. Er is een verslag van een deurwaarder van het Hof van Holland, die op 13/1 1635 vaststelde, dat hij minstens 100 mensen uit het huis van Claes Francken had zien komen, en er nog 100 in het, totaal van meubilair ontdane huis, had aangetroffen, die kennelijk juist een "paapse" exercitie hadden bijgewoond. De sporen daarvan waren echter zorgvuldig uitgewist.Volgens reg.1623 Berkel, had hij op dat moment 8 kinderen. De eerste 3 kinderen werden ND Geref. gedoopt. De doop van de
andere kinderen is niet te vinden. Misschien toendertijd illegaal R.K.?
Hij maakte 7/6 1635 in Delft zijn testament (1848-73), en wordt daarin al als "Romijn" vermeld. Ook wordt Claes in 1597 genoemd in een Kohier van het getimmerte. Hij heeft dan " een huys, een schuyrtgen ende enen barch", ook wordt hij in een lijst van gezworenen van de vierschaar van 1624 tot 1639 genoemd. Hij maakte 7-6-1635 zijn testament te Delft.
Hij droeg als bijnaam Romeijn, wat later familienaam werd.
