Notes about Maria Margaretha Westendorp


Maria Margaretha is geboren aan de Harmenjansweg No 47. Bij haar huwelijk in de Gierstraat 7.
Op 04-09-1936 verhuisde zij naar het Plein 2a en trok met de drie broers bij Jan Pieter & Sophie Mechtelina in; (boven garages van de Amsterdamse Rijtuigmij) maar later kocht Klaas in de Hoofdstraat 137 in Santpoort een huis waarin Marie met de drie jongens op 30-09-1937 ging wonen. Marie hield het in het dorp niet uit en wilde terug naar de stad. Zij huurde van een vroegere kegelvriend van Gerrit, van Tiggelen, in de Frans Halsstraat een etage. Vrij snel vlogen de broertjes uit, mede als gevolg van de oorlog GÅ ??????40-GÅ ??????à?????????????/45. Marie ging langzaam achteruit en besloten werd dat zij samen met oma van Lente, de schoonmoeder van Klaas, ging wonen in de van Frans Halsstraat, later in de van Duvenvoordestraat en korte tijd later op de Rijksstraatweg 86G in Haarlem-Noord.
In 1944 is zij in een verpleeghuis aan het Westerhoutpark 18 opgenomen waar zij op 29-11-1945 op 64 jarige leeftijd is overleden. In die tijd, zo vlak na de oorlog, was er een enorm gebrek aan hout en werd zij in een kartonnen kist begraven.
