Notes about Elen Birgitha Eriksen

They settled first in Zumbrota, MN, where they had their childred and then moved on, I'm assuming, following Ludvik (later known as Louis) and his wife, Ella (Ellen) Erickson Larson to Wolford, Pierce, ND and also records in Towner County, ND. I have yet to get an official place of death for either, but with your dates, may be able to find out now. I have copies of the baptismal records for both Ludvik & Anna that I obtained from ELCA headquarters archive dept, which is how I got everyone's Norwegian names and found your info. At some point, they changed their names to John & Jennie. Interestingly enough, I was not named after her. I just found out her name in the past 2 years. Curious how you fit into this lineage. Thank you for all your help, Jenny From: Glenn Sorte <mysam(XXXXX@XXXX.XXX)> To: JENNY SEVICK <(XXXXX@XXXX.XXX)> Sent: Friday, September 2, 2011 8:22 AM Subject: Re: Avelsgard -with a couple of questions Good Morning Jenny Thank you for the information on your great-great grandfather. One small point of confusion, Gertrude (born 5 Dec 1831) was born on the farm Adal or as it is sometimes seen Adalen, which is also located in Stjordal,Hegra Parish, North Trondelag, Norway - her family is listed on page 469. The Norwegian books are my primary source for almost all of my Norwegian relatives. Are you familiar with this source? Also do you know which state Johan and Gjertrud settled in when they came to America? The farm book states "Johan Lassesen Avelsgard: born 8 Nov 1834, died in America 31 July 1912, Farmer in USA" I purchased the book in question along with 5 other volumes from Norway about 15 years ago. I can make a hard copy of each farm listing the families in question if you would like, for your records. I can also take your line back to 1643 on the Adal line and to 1605 on the Avelsgard line, of course that is all recorded on Ancestry.com. hope this helps Glenn 1900 US Census for Coolin, Towner, NorthDakota Louis Larson, head, 32, born Jan 1868 in Minnesota, married 9 years.
