Mrs. Mary Halsten, 82, of 1907 Monroe st., died at her home Sunday after a long illness. She was born in Oslo, Norway, came to the United States at the age of 10, and spent most of her life in the Black Earth community. Mr. and Mrs. Halslen farmed in the township of Vermont-and moved to Black Earth in 1015. During the past 4 years Mrs. Halsten had been a resident of Madison. Mr. Halsten died about16 years ago. Survivors include: five daughters', Mrs. Tellef K. Halvorsen, Madison: Mrs. Ream Turk, Mazomanie; Mrs. I. T. Simley, Madison; Jenora Halsten, Beloit, and Cora Halsten, Madison; and onesister, Mrs. Ole Olson, Colton, S. D. Burial will be in the Vermont Lutheran Church Cemetery.
