Han var den første selveiar på Virum, da han fikk kjøpt gården for 51 daler. Gunnar var en foregangsmann på jordbrukets område og satte sterke spår etter seg å¨Ålvundeid.

Hans Hustru het Ingrid Engelsdatter og var kansje fra Husby i Todalen. De hadde 4 barn:

1. Engel          f. 1722 ble gårdbruker på Viset br. Nr. 3

2. Einar           f. 1725 ble gårdbruker på Børset br. Nr. 5

3. Lars            f. 1727 ble gårdbruker på Vinjevollbr. Nr. 2

4, Gunnar ble gårdbruker å¨Øyen i Todalen
