Notes about Klaas Jacobs Wouters

Lammert: "Het tweede huwelijk van Klaas Wouters met Klaske Gorter is omstreden. Het heeft hem niet gegeven wat hij ervan verwachtte. Het rietdekkersbedrijf werd verkocht en een zwervend bestaan kwam ervoor in de plaats. Het is ongelooflijk zo vaak er verhuisd werd. Douwe Tamminga vertelde dat de inboedel vaak maar gedeeltelijk werd uitgepakt, omdat er alweer verhuisplannen waren. Hij bezocht dan zijn moeder op het laatst bekende adres. Daar aangekomen bleken ze alweer te zijn vertrokken. Van Franeker zijn ze per schip verhuisd naar Apeldoorn. Hij heeft gewerkt in de beetwortelsuikerfabriek in Vierverlaten, Groningen. Toen de kleinkinderen schooljongens waren, woonden ze weer in Franeker. Daarna hebben ze jaren op diverse adressen in Groningen gewoond. en zijn ze tenslotte in Leeuwarden geëindigd. Omdat hij wisselend werk had en weinig inkomen werd onze familie door de rechtbank bevolen om hem naar draagkracht financieel bij te staan. In hoeverre dit vonnis is uitgevoerd is niet bekend, wel dat vader tijdens zijn detentie in 1945 moeder opdracht gaf om geld ovr te maken. Tante-moeke ( Klaske), zoals ze door de kinderen werd genoemd, trachtte wat bij te verdienen door cursisten te werven voor een Modevakschool. De wederzijdse contacten waren minimaal. Opa werd ernstig ziek in Leeuwarden en Klaas en ik (Lammert) hem opgezocht in januari 1946. Het was een oude, tochtige en koudewoning met weinig comfoty. Onze rapportage had tot gevolg, dat hij zijn laatste levensdagen heeft doorgebracht bij Oom Klaas en tante Annie, waar hij op 73-jarige leeftijd overleed. Hij werds begraven in Franeker bij zijn eerste vrouw Hiltje Zwart.
