I 1913 solgte Anders Tollan Øylund en parsell av garden Øgaard til Magnus Karlsen Strømsmo. Karl delte garden mellom sønnene Peder og Jon. På Øgaard står den eldste stua fra Straumsmo. Magnus fikk i 1954 diplom fra Troms landbruksselskap for dyrking av jord. Han har vært en dyktig bygningsmann og har ellers tatt mange tunge tak, men humøret og helsa har holdt.
