Se Hallingen jub.nr 1982 s75. Mange av barna hennes døde tidlig (Gunhild falt fra en bro i en flom og forsvant.) Ingeborg kom seg aldri etter tapet av barna. I fortvilelse satte de sin lit til Amerika. De emigrerte i 1850, sammen med Ingeborgs søster Margit og hennes mann. Reisen tok 9 uker med seilskipet Drafna fra Drammen til New York.
De var blant de første sttlerne i Highland, Winneshiek Co, IA, hvor de startet et nytt liv, men Ingeborg døde bare to år etter. Familien tok navnet Stoen.
Det ser ut som de fikk 10 barn og -jeg er usikker, men at omkring halvparten døde som små. De hadde med 4 barn da de emigrerte.
