Elias Blix (født 24. februar 1836, død 17. januar 1902[1]) var en norsk teolog, politiker (V) og salmedikter. Han var født på Våg på Sandhornøya i Nordland og fullførte teologisk embetseksamen i Oslo i 1866. Han ble professor i hebraisk 1879 og var kirkestatsråd i perioden 188488.[2] Han har skrevet en rekke salmer, og mange av disse er tatt med i ulike norske salmebøker.

For sine salmer og sanger på nynorsk og for sitt arbeid for nynorsk som skole- og kirkespråk, regnes Blix som en av nynorskens fedre. Da Birger Anneus Hall ga ut sangboken Kirkeklokken i 1890, hadde han med 30 nynorske salmer av Elias Blix, det var i denne forbindelse han for første gang stod fram som salmedikter. To år senere, i 1892, utgav Blix selv salmeboken Nokre salmar – utelukkende med egne tekster på nynorsk. 

Elias Blix var konservativ innen teologien, men radikal når det gjaldt målsaken og politikken. Som kirkeminister var han den som var formelt ansvarlig for det såkalte jamstellingsvedtaket fra 1885, det vedtaket som sidestilte landsmålet med «det almindelige Skrift- og Bogsprog» som offisielt språk i Norge. Hundre år etter, 12. mai 1985, overleverte representanter for styret i Noregs Mållag et maleri av Elias Blix til Stortingets presidentskap til minne om dette.

Blix døde i hjemmet sitt i Kristiania (Oslo) i 1902. Han er gravlagt på Vår Frelsers gravlund.

Blix var gift med Emma Blix, og var far til satiretegneren og riksmålsmannen Ragnvald Blix
