Kristen Nilsen rydda Reingardslia i 1852. De bodde først på Rabben, Sør-Dunderland og i Kvannlia. Reingardslia ble aldri skyldsett, og var heile tida rydningsplass. Reingardslia ble nedlagt litt etter 1900, då brukeren flytta til Bjørnåga etter at et snøskred hadde tatt fjøsen. Kristen Nilsen bygde først i østerenden av vatnet. Det var magre kår og lang veg til naboer. Det var hardt slit å få varer til og fra, de bar som oftest opp fra Asphaugen og rodde på vatnet. En stor stein ved vegen halvveis fra Asphaugen til Reingardslivatnet kalles for Kristen Nilssa-børda. Han kvilte der når han gikk og bar. De sa at han bar ei våg (18 kg) opp der når han var over 80 år.
