Description Almlia is situated at Alterneset on the northern side of Ranfjorden. The land is stony and sloping but sunny. There has been woods enough. the place was settled in 1610 and has allways held several farms. Boatbuilding has been important for income here and even so big boats as jekt were built here. Here has been a mill and several tennant farms. In 1865 the place fed three horses twenty-six cattle and a lot of sheep and goats. 40 Bushnels of grain was sown, mostly potatoes.
