Notes about Sigrid Inga Røe

Funeral services for Sigrid I. Birklid, 88, of Lisbon, will be held on Thursday, March 28, 1996 at Preston Lutheran Church in rural Kathryn, ND. Pallbearers will be Robert Birklid, Tim Hanson, Jerry Nelson, Ron Graalum,l Jeffrey Trzpuc and Eugene Birklid. Soloist Arlys Carter will be accompanied by organist Betty Anderson. Reverend David Carlson will officiate the services. Sigrid was born on Norwegian decent on September 11, 1907 in rural Kathryn, ND. She attended and graduated from school in Kathryn. She received her teaching certificate from Valley City State University. She taught in various area schools for several years. During WWII she moved to Seattle, where she worked for Boeing for a few years. She then moved to Bismarck and worked at the state capitol. She married Edgar A. Birklid in Enderlin, ND on February 11, 1950. They farmed near Ft. Ransom, ND. Edgar died in 1981. She moved to Lisbon in 1982. She entered Parkside Home in 1988. Sigrid is survived by a sister, Clara Haugrud of Bismarck. Published in the Enderlin Independent, Enderlin, North Dakota, March 27, 1996.
