Hooijenga, Hedzer Geboortedatum: 2 december 1920 (Bergum) Overlijdensdatum: 27 juli 1944 (Bergum) Biografie Woonde in Bergum, Nr. 634. Zoon van arbeider/melkrijder Gerrit Hooijenga (13 juli 1896 Bergum) en Lieuwkje Paulusma (21 juni 1897 Bergum). Huwde met Geertje Groen. Het echtpaar had een dochter: Pietje. Melkrijder. Nederlands Hervormd. Lid verzet. Op 27 juli 1944 is hij omstreeks half een 's middags door de Duitsers bij Bergum (nu: Burgum) doodgeschoten. Volgens zijn eveneens Hedzer Hooijenga hetende neef werd hij niet op de Zomerweg neergeschoten, zoals in eerste instantie is gemeld, maar vlakbij zijn ouderlijke woning aan de Tussendijken (1*). Hedzer Hooijenga Sr anno april 2015: 'Volgens mij had hij ook niemand bedreigd (2*). Hij is gearresteerd door twee landwachters, die waren gewapend met jachtgeweren (hagelgeweren). Hij was bij de Zomerweg aangehouden en de landwachters wilden hem opbrengen naar een politiecel bij politieman Kobes (3*). Bij het kruispunt Westersingel-Tussendijken is hij gevlucht in de richting van zijn ouderlijk huis. Die landwachters schoten wel op hem, maar hun jachtgeweer reikte niet ver genoeg om hem te raken. Bij de eerste boerderij aan de linkerkant van de weg, waar Siede Klompstra woonde, waren Duitsers ingekwartierd. Deze Duitsers gingen schietend achter mijn neef Hedzer aan. In het weiland van Romke en Pieter van der Wal, schuin achter zijn ouderlijke woning, werd hij dodelijk geraakt. Ik zie nog hoe hij op een ladder bij zijn ouders in huis werd gebracht.' (1*)De Tussendijken ligt op korte afstand van de Zomerweg en loopt eveneens van west naar oost. (2*)Eerder was gemeld dat hij Duitsers met een jachtgeweer had bedreigd. (3*)Gemeenteveldwachter Jacob Kobes uit Bergum.
