I 1880 fikk '''Christian Berg Kristensen''' seg lærerjobb, ved omgangsskolen i Gildeskål. Han flyttet da og bosatte seg på Fore i Gildeskål. Den 22.07.1884 giftet ungkarl og skolelærer, '''Christian Berg Kristensen''' seg, i Saltdal, med pigen '''Karen Hellene Johansdatter''', fra Medby i Saltdalen. '''Karen Hellene''' flyttet til Gildeskål i 1884. '''Chrstian''' og '''Karen Hellene''' fikk to barn mens de bodde på Fore i Gildeskål. '''Johan Bernhoft''' 1885 og '''Bernhartine Kristine''' 1886. En gang mellom 1887 og 1890 har tydeligvis '''Christian Berg Kristensen''' fått seg en bedre lærerjobb i Steigen. Familien har flyttet til Steigen i perioden 1887-1891. De bosatte seg dapå Skånland og den 31.03.1891 får de datteren '''Astrid''' født og døpt i Steigen. Foreldrenes bosted var da Skånland. De får tre barn til mens de bor på Skånland. I 1896 må '''Christian Berg Kristensen''' ha fått seg jobb som Klokker og Kirkesanger. Da de får sitt syvende barn, Signe Marie 1896, er de bosatt på Laskestad på Engeløya i Steigen. I folketelling 1900 er de oppført som bosatt i '''Klokkergaarden''', Laskestad. De får to barn til mens de bor på Laskestad, Erling Johannes 1899 og Dagny 1901. Hvor lenge de bodde i Klokkergården på Laskestad er jeg usikker på. Men en gang etter 1910 flytta de til Skånland, hvor '''Christian Berg Kristensen''' døde 21. mai 1925 (68 år).
